Photos / video link:

The machine on any cycle begins, and does its thing. Then water fills for 5 minutes than stops and throws the F20 Code with the Rinse and Clothes Clean light illuminated and all green lights flashing.

After running the diagnosis test per the manual it stops and throws the same code. I believe its the water level switch as “within 5 minutes the water level has not been reached by the switch sensing the machine stops”.
If I select the Rinse and spin cycle the machine functions as it should.

The question is: If the water level switch is bad, then why does the Rinse cycle function correctly? Shouldn’t the water level be messed up during the Rinse cycle as well?

I believe the Washer water level switch is faulty part number 8540224, superseded by WPW10163980, superseded by w11417619. However am I chasing the wrong thing?

Thank you

I would lean more towards the main control over the water level switch due to the question you have correctly asked. A bad water level switch would fail in any cycle where water was being used. Make sure you are getting good water flow through the hot and cold water valves. A plugged-up screen can restrict the volume of water and set off that error code as well.

When you refer to the main control can I assume its Washer Electronic Control Board WPW10525355?

Yes, that would be the one.
