Kenmore LG Water Inlet Valve Verification

Kenmore 795.77572600 French door refrigerator.

Water inlet valve PN: 5220JB2009A

I found the replacement part on the website. Per your website the part below supersedes the existing part:

Current PN: 5221JB2006K

This looks very different from my existing part. Looking at the photos you have, it looks like my fridge only uses the front part of this valve and I would remove the back portion.

I wanted to verify before I ordered the part. It doesn’t look like I have the ability to attach any photos of the existing valve.

You should have 4 solenoids on both valves. You should be able to swap them out without taking the valves apart.

As I mentioned, mine only looks like the front half of the replacement. It only has 2 solenoids and only 2 water hookups: to the wall and the one internal. It has 4 wire hookups.

I’m thinking LG made a revised valve to fit multiple fridges but I wanted to verify first.

It has to be a re-design. Typically there is a solenoid that sends water to the filter, then it goes back to another part of the valve where it is divided to the door for water and another solenoid for the icemaker..

It actually looks almost like MJX41178908 only 4 wires instead of 2 wires.

That would be the primary valve that sends water to the filter, there would have to another valve.
