Hello. I’ve got the front loading Kenmore HE2T that I purchased probably close to 5 years ago. I frequently open up the drain filter to pull out dog hair, bandaids, coins, and all that stuff that keeps it from draining. Now I’m having a different problem; cloths come out soppy wet, but the filter is clear. No error codes.
Upon the advice of some forum, I poked my finger in to see if the impeller blade was free, it turns, but it doesn’t spin freely it seems to stop after I’ve moved it to a free spot. (hard to explain, it “flops” and then stops until I move it more, I couldn’t just send it spinning by flicking it or anything).
So we called the appliance repair guy. He ran diagnostics and indicated there was weird diagnostic codes and that the CPU wasn’t “talking” with the pump. He basically said $650 to replace the drain pump and the CPU.
Seems fishy to me. He’s saying the CPU broke the pump, and he wouldn’t replace just the pump because the CPU will break the new one too. THen again, I don’t want to replace the pump myself and end up $75 poorer still with soppy cloths.
Anybody have thoughts?
