What happens & when: When using the washer, can no longer use Bulky/Bedding and Normal cycles; they are stripped. I use casual cycle only.

When you say they are stripped what do you mean? Are you hearing a grinding sound? Can you just not select those cycles on the control; panel?

I am still not sure what you mean by stripped. Are they just not working? Do you hear unusual noises when you try to run them? More details would help my diagnosis

I’m not hearing a grinding sound. When you select the Bulky/Bedding and Normal cycles on the control panel, the wash temp and spin speed do not light up and you cannot select them. However, when I select the casual cycle, I can select the wash temp and spin speed.

I sent pictures of what each cycle looks like when selected. (Bulky/Bedding, Normal and Casual) The Casual cycle does show the lights for the wash temp and spin speed.

Also, the wash time for the Bulky/bedding and Normal cycles are incorrect. Bulky/Bedding cycle shows 1hour 1 min; Normal cycle shows 1 hour 8 min. Both cycles used to take approx. 50 min.

  3. Control communication issue – Loose or damaged harness between the UI and main control.

Recommended troubleshooting

  1. Perform a power reset:
    • Unplug the washer for 5 minutes.
    • Restore power and check if the missing cycles return.
  2. Enter the washer’s diagnostic mode (if available) and check for stored error codes.
  3. Inspect the ribbon cable and wiring between the user interface and the main control.
  4. If no wiring issues are found:
    • Replace the User Interface/Console Assembly first.
    • If the issue remains, replace the Main Control Board.

Repair assessment

This is not consistent with a motor, drain, or sensor problem. Since only specific cycles and option selections are unavailable while the washer still operates on the Casual cycle, the failure is most likely in the electronic controls (UI or main control board).
