I need to replace the tub ring on a top loading Kernmore elite model 110.27086604. I belive I need to flip the top up using the two clips that are located in the front of the washer? I bought a replacement part already but can not figure out how to open the top of the washer to replace it.

If you insert a screw driver or putty knife in the gap between the top and front, about 6.5 inches from each side you should be able to release the tab locks that hold the top down, and it will swing up.
Thanks for the info. It appears that the clips were really rusted so I almost had to pry the lid out. One of the clips actually snapped it was so rusted. I was able to replace the ring and put the top back down and the one remaining clip seems to hold it in place. thanks again.
