Evening,
Our Kenmore Elite Oasis Top loader washing machine started acting up over the past few days. It would start a load and then error out with LD displayed at 24 minutes. I was able to unplug it and reset it once, finished the load and thought all was fine. Next load it did the same thing, only I could not get it to reset.
I have run through the Automatic Diagnostics and confirmed the Long Drain issue. I have unhooked the drain hose, used as shop vac to clear out the water from the hose. I did some research and began the process to get to the drain filter under the tub.
I have gone through the following steps, but the tub will not lift out. We have sprayed Rust Buster on it and let it sit for over an hour. But the tub still will not budge. It seems as though there is something mechanically stopping it from coming up. Are these the right steps to complete to remove the tub?
- Remove the plastic top of the tub. There is one hose connected at the back and there are several snaps around the outer edge that hold it on. Remove the hose and unsnap the snaps and set it aside.
5. Remove the cap covering the very center of the agitator. It is just snapped in place and can be pried off with a small screwdriver.
6. Remove the center screw under the cap.
- Remove the agitator
8. Remove the 6 Phillips screws in the middle holding the plastic top gear in place.
9. Remove the plastic top gear.
10. Pull the plastic lower gear off of the splinded shaft. It should pull right off.
11. Now you need to pull the basket up and off of the shaft. This is where you might have problems because the basket might be corroded to the shaft.
Any suggestions?
