Kenmore elite he3 needs new belt - replace from back?

After seeing another post this morning, am I correct in reading that it is easier to change belt from back? I know it is a real pain to take apart to the front and can’t get it all apart.
front panel attached to bulkhead and didn’t come apart like video said.

Can anyone confirm that this is a good way to replace belt? Thank you. I have tech sheet(took it out of machine) when trying to figure this out.

remove the back panel. put the belt around the motor shaft first and then on the large pulley.

am i able to replace drum support rollers to stop the rattling? It doesn’t squeal - just sort of rhythmically makes noise - bmm -mmm-mmm-mmm-mm. the drum has lots of rubber from the rollers on the outside.

sounds very reasonable. most likely the cause of the rumble because the center bearing of the roller is made from a material that will wear out faster than the shaft, to protect the shaft. replace, especially if rubber is beginning to deteriorate.

okay 1 more thing. the machine sounds like it is trying to shake itself apart does that still sound like the rollers? to get to replace belt, i have to take a silver cover off something in the back that rollers are attached to to be able to get around anything. hmm have to figure this out… front or back replacement

at work now. est. will research and post again tonight. we will get there.

i am sending you a link on how to correctly disassemble and reassemble your dryer. https://secured.whirlpool.com/Service/SrvTechAdm.nsf/2cd44500d572193285256a45004fd9d6/cdce3c10dcb5382285256aa20064beaa/$FILE/Duetdry.pdf

thank you for link. I am just seeing it now, but SUCCESS! I replaced the belt and the rear drum rollers. Opened the machine from the front and replaced rollers and belt. However, couldn’t reach to thread the belt. closed machine and opened the back then threaded the belt. Never told hubby I was doing this. He was impressed, I was proud, and I saved us money. BTW hardest thing was detaching stupid wire harnesses!
BTW Scott, you were right about rollers. the metal center ring of one of the rollers was warped and out of shape, and it wasn’t attached to plastic/rubber of the roller. I vacuumed up lots of metal and rubber dust. That was the issue but already bought belt so replaced it also. The dryer is so quiet it seems weird!

glad i could help. happy happy happy
