My dryer ran for hours without cutting off. I assume the timer motor was bad since on any cycle it will tumble and move towards the off setting but never click over to off. But my other concern is that it now does not heat. I tested the fuses and the heating element and all of them seem good. Does the timer also engage the heating element. I do not mind ordering the part#AP3129792 but would like to make sure that I am solving the problem. Please advise? Thanks

Yes as you can see the heater circuit goes through Timer Switch 2.
Set the unit where it is not heating, then open the door and then unplug the unit. Unplug one side of Timer Switch 2 and measure across it, it should be 0 ohms.
FYI: The timer motor gets power differently for manual and auto dry cycles.
In manual dry it gets power directly from the line, so if it is advancing you know your 240 volts is OK.
In auto dry it gets power through the heating coil when the coil is shut off by a thermostat, so if it advances here you know that the heating coil is OK.
