If you disconnect the vent hose from the dryer and run a drying cycle, do the clothes get properly dried or are they still damp? Also, the model number provided is not showing up within available database. Could the model number be verified so that the most accurate testing information could be provided?

I did not try running it with the vent disconnected. The model number is correct and I could not find this model number anywhere on the internet. I believe this dryer was purchased back in the early to mid 80’s and has been trouble free until now.

Aside from disconnecting the vent hose for testing, it can be checked to see if it may have kinked. The drum can also be rotated to identify if it rotates freely. Since the dryer gets plenty of heat, air flow and clothes rotation would be the primary concern.

Hi all,

Just wanted to mention that this appears to be a Canadian dept store model#…which are normally not online.

The not drying properly ONLY started after changing the belt?

A copy for not dryer properly…this may help:

Q: Dryer takes too long to dry or multiple times to dry a load.
A1: Pull the dryer out away from the wall. Unhook the vent from the dryer completely. Do not put anything over the dryer exhaust on the back of the dryer. Do a normal load with the vent unhooked. If it dries better or ok like this then the problem is in the dryer venting. Like a blocked vent pipe or a smashed or restricted vent hose.
A2: If the vent doesn’t make a difference, then check the blower wheel for excessive lint build up, check that there isn’t anything stuck to the air intake baffle inside the drum, (i.e. the screen on the back wall of the dryer when looking into the drum). Check the lint filter chute for blockage. Check that the heating element isn’t shorted to ground. Check the exhaust temperature of the dryer. A Digital Cooking Food Meat Thermometer with Stainless Steel Probe or pocket thermometer can be used for this. It should cycle approx between 120 degrees and 160 degrees (without clothes). Check that the drum seals are not worn out.

I took the back off the dryer and gave it a close inspection and found the foam gasket between the air duct that draws air out of the dryer and the outlet screen of the drum has disintegrated and the blower is sucking a lot of air from inside the rear of the dryer instead of through the drum. Is there a replacement available for this and where can I get one?

With this being a model that I am unable to find a parts listing for, I can not guarantee that this part would fit. However, this dryer chute seal is used on many Kenmore and Whirlpool dryers where the lint filter is at the top of the appliance and the blower is at the back. Good catch on the worn out seal.
This place linked here should be able to help with the Canadian dryer parts.
