After washing & cycling through, the bottom is dry, however water seems to backup from kitchen sink somehow, within a day, it fills back up with dirty water, I have to cycle it to drain before useing or it will leak out the front.
I disconnected drain hose, no obstructions, ran the drain cycle, emptied into bucket ok. It is connected just above p trap under sink, no air gap, has run good for over 10 years.
The motor sounds like it is slowing down, given the age of 14 years of this one, I am guessing the dirty water I am seeing on the bottom may be a slow leaking water return, as the motor is not strong enough to push the last gallon of wast water up the drain, it remains in the hose, & slowly leaks back down into dishwasher.
What is your take on this?
If local plumbing code permit, dishwasher drain hose may be connected directly to a waste tee. The waste tee connection must be made ahead of the trap and a minimum of 20 inches above the floor to prevent a back up. If drain hose connection is less than 20" above the floor, the hose must form a loop 20" above the floor. Make sure there are no kinks in the hose.
