My dishwasher died during a cycle and has no lights on the control panel. I used a voltage detector to check for power and found the following:

when the door switch is actuated - power can be detected at the thermal fuse - on and off as the switch is actuated and let go. This seems to be working properly. I even tried removing the fuse and jumping it out - no dice.
the Thermal fuse is intact and power goes beyond into the control board.
i purchased a new control board for $100 and popped it in and guess what…right…:mad: :mad: :mad: it didn’t work.[/LIST]I’m about to lose it and I gotta get this thing fixed…Please help!!!:eek:
The first thing I would do is verify if there is 120VAC between the hot and neutral wires with a voltmeter. Detector will show power but if there is no proper voltage - the dishwasher will never work. Also verify if there is no reversed polarity at the dishwasher junction box (under the dishwasher).
I changed the board as well ($100.00) and nothing. After playing around with it a bit it started again. Went through one cleaning complete. Next load stopped mid cycle, thing full of water, no lights, nothing. Voltage is good.
By “control panel” do you mean the board inside the door panel on the right? I changed that. I jumped out the thermal fuse and no change. I also checked the operation of the door switches by actuating them while checking that the voltage comes and goes. It seems ok. It’s really wierd that it just started working again after putting it back together for the 2nd time. What am i missing?
Control panel is the front panel with buttons and lights. It has a ribbon which plugs into the control board (the part which you replaced). Very possible this ribbon has a poor connection with the control board. Try to clean it, using a pencil eraser. If it would not help then the console (aka a control panel) has to be replaced.
All of the above is correct if you did what I recommended in the very first reply back in June and result was good.
If you need the correct part number for the console then post the color of it.
I tried to clean the ends with an eraser but I’m not getting anything. The color of the dishwasher is white. What color do you need? Would it help if I take a photo?
