Kenmore control board burnt to a crisp

So, 3:30am a couple days ago and my wife wakes me asks what the smell is. I do some searching and find it’s the dishwasher (kenmore/whirlpool 665.17362300) that looks like it completed most of the cleaning cycle it was running. At this point there were no lights on it. Went and checked the breaker, it was not tripped so I shut it off. Pulled the top part of the door off to find the control board had a small fire which melted some cable connectors and I assume blew out the thermal fuse. I see I can get the fuse and control board but what about the connectors? Is there anything else that could be bad that made this happen like a heating element or motor? I need to decide if this thing is salvageable or time for a new one. Actually a bit scary that it burned so much. thanks.

Mike

I would junk it.
A new control board , wiring harness and fuse is going to run you about $250.00.

Then you still have to find out what cause the overeating and that may add even more dollars to the repair.

Yeah, that’s pretty much what I was thinking. Seems to be very common that these boards burn up. Not many mention other issues that contribute to the crispy control board.
