Main Symptom: drum slows/stops on heating
What happens & when:
I installed a new element, drum felt, rollers and idler, and belt. The drum rolls on “air fluff (no heat)” mode but when the heat is turned to “delicate” cycle the drum starts to slow down, when the heat is turned to “permanent press” the drum comes to a stop. I have reviewed my reassembly several times looking for problems and corrected a misalignment of the back interior panel but I don’t see anything else that could be causing this. Thermal expansion? The drum turned fine with the old belt/rollers/felt but it looked like the front felt was passing so I decided to replace as I need to install new element.

Try this, get your multimeter and set if for AC voltage. Take the rear access cover off the terminal block where your power cord attaches to the dryer. Put one lead on the white wire connection, and the other on the black connector. it should read 120 volts. Start the dryer and check it with it running on normal heat, the 120 volts should still be there, if not, the problem is with the house voltage, not the dryer. it almost sounds like you are dropping voltage with a load on the circuit.
This sounds like a plausible scenario but it ran fine before the old element went. I decided to replace the “wear and tear” parts since I would have it open to replace the element. I am at work currently so can’t test the voltage until this evening, if you have any other thoughts in the meantime I’d appreciate hearing them.
