Hi,

  1. is an (shudder) LG built Kenmore. I looked up:

Part #5221JB2006K replaces #5220JB2009A

That part has what looks like at least four water outlets. Mine only has one,my valve looks like part number MJX41178908. but that valve only has two wire connections. Mine has four.

That picture has one valve where the house water enters, that one should exit to the filter and then goes to the second valve where it is split up between the chilled water and ice maker.

Can you post a picture of your valve?

I received and installed part number 5221JB2006K. The front half of valve is an exact match to 5220JB2009A. After installing, I turned on the water reset the refrigerator and 24 hours later still no ice, water dispenser is still working.

Where you just guessing the fill valve was bad?

Ice maker room cold enough (normally must get below 15ºF) to cycle the ice maker on?

What happens if you press the test button?

Have you poured water into the ice maker to see what happens?

Is the fill spout frozen over?

The ice maker for your model# appears to be NLA :frowning:

It was a guess, last night. I tried the hairdryer again in the icemaker compartment and it seems to be working fine now thanks so much for your help.

Glad you got somewhere with this!

Please consider lower water pressure (shut off valve, tired filter, kinked line, sediment from house water supply) issues.

Also low water pressure will sometimes not allow the fill valve(s) to 100% close and weep some water in which often freezes in the fill line/tube.

After thawing the inlet tube in the icemaker with a hairdryer, it will work about a day and a half and then refreezes.
