How do I test wiring back to main control board, and main control board itself to determine if I just happened to get a bad motor, or if it is a wiring or control board problem
You will want to check to see if there is voltage to the diverter motor. This can be done at the control board. When you look at the control board, look for the P7 connector. You can test from pin number 4 which is a blue wire to pin number 6 which is another blue wire. There should be 120 vac when the diverter motor should be rotating. If there is not then the issue will be with the control board. If there is then this will be an issue with the wiring since the diverter motor has already been replaced.
What about the red wires which are to the diverter sensor. I have 120v at the control panel for the motor circuit and have checked wires for continuity, so don’t think it is a power issue to the motor. What should I be reading on the sensor circuit as I think that might be the issue on the control board itself. I am seeing in the manual 5v, but not seeing anything close to that. Is that AC or DC? And thank you for the above.
The 2 red wires are for the position switch and would be checked for continuity. When the diverter position switch is not pushed it it should read open and when pushed it should read closed.
getting voltage to the motor at the motor end connector. no continuity ever on the signal wire which leads me to believe the relay isn’t opening and closing to tell the motor to move.
updated. no continuity at the sensor end, I may have been testing the wrong pins on the board. I did check wires for continuity. This leads me back to control board
