Jenn Aire Smoothtop range

The dual burner (lower left on cooktop) quit working. I ordered a new one to replace it thinking it was burned out since another unit had went out a couple years ago. After replacing the unit, it still does not work. What is the problem, or do I need to call out a repairman.

Very likely the problem is a bad infinite switch for this burner. If you need the correct part number, post the end of the model number.

It is Model # JEC9536ADB

The switch AP4009110

It comes with the installation instructions.

It appears that this switch is above a circuit board. Is it attached to the board, or does the board have to be removed to get to the switch.

Where did you find a circuit board in this cooktop?

This job is very similar to the heating element replacement which you already did per your previous post.

There is a green circuit board just under the knob and switch on the burner element on the lower right (I said lower left on original post). The only place I can find this part with a picture is on the web-site ************************.com. It is called a circuit board and timer. The part number is W10485918. Evidently the model # I have must be different than what most people know about. This burner element is plugged into components on this circuit board.

It is the same part number as AP5608256 on your part list. You do not have a picture of it. Evidently the entire board and switch must be replaced to repair it.

Sorry for the delay.

My bad, I missed it.

If it’s not too late you can check this part by measuring voltage at the following terminals:
L1 to L2 - 240 VAC;
L1 to Com - 120 VAC;
L2 to Com - 120 VAC;
Com to Inner - 240 VAC;
Com to Outer - 240 VAC.
