Jenn Air side by side frige warm on top shelves freezes in produce drawers

My Jenn-Air side by side frige is 45-50 degrees on top and 30 degrees in the produce drawer. Freezer seems to be working fine.

A while ago there was a loud noise intermittently occuring from inside in the ceiling area above the top shelf where the lights are…noise has stopped and do not know if this is related to the issue.

Check to be sure that the fan in the freezer is running. This is required to circulated air in the unit.

Also check that the damper at the top between the fresh food and freezer is opening.

Model number is JCD2389GES

The fan in the freezer runs constantly. There is a damper behind one of the produce drawers that has a blue mylar flap that appears normal and not blocked or anything…I do not see a damper up top.

I don’t feel any air coming from the top left opening…My frige just isn’t cooling properly. I turned the temp down in the freezer and the frige only to have it go to 40 degrees in the produce bin and 60 in the upper shelves. the freezer is still at 6-9 degrees and it doesn’t get above 10.

there is obviously an air flow problem between the two. I don’t know whether to buy a new frige or try to fix this one. I have had trouble with it ever since the repair for the recall on this p.o.s.

You may have more than one problem.
You do have a freezer problem as it should be down around 0 degrees F.

Perhaps the following will help you troubleshoot it.

I would remove the evaporator coil cover and check the coils first.
If the compressor is running continuously then you may have a defrost or a low freon problem, both can be troubleshot by inspecting the coils.
