There is a hole in the upper oven on the right side, about 3" in diameter that the cover was just sitting on the floor of the oven. there is notch on the bottom of the hole that corresponds to the cover but no indication as to how it was held in place. Any ideas on how to reinstall?

That’s pretty weird.
It might have been some kind of “knockout” for an optional oven light or something else. Its odd it wasn’t attached better. Maybe you could screw some little tabs to it and attach them to the wall. ?
