Hi,
My old hotpoint dishwasher has suddenly stopped doing anything.
I have confirmed that it is not the door switch or the power cord, as there is power coming all the way up to the selector switch and timer motor, when I have it plugged in.
I suspect the timer motor, but am a little uncertain as to whether I am testing the correct wires. There is an array with many wires that leads from the side of the timer motor over to the selector switch and down towards the motor pump mechanism; a plastic connector (a more modern looking electrical part) that leads two wires (a white and a yellow) into the timer motor; and one green wire with an older style metal connector which should be the ground AFAIK. I tested the two wires with the modern looking plastic connector for continuity, and my multimeter didn’t change a bit. Does this confirm that the timer motor needs to be replaced, or are there further tests I should run to confirm that the timer motor is the problem?
Thank you for your assistance,
Jeanne
