I have installed the new motor and before installing I compared both motors.
First problem I run was the wire was too short then the tech support from APP said that this is a common issue and that I will need to splice the old and connect to the new to reach.
Second problem is the shaft from the new part that APP sent was too long than the original part and said as long as I push it in all the way it will work but that did not happen because the shaft is already bottomed-out and when I installed the whole unit the fan won’t spin freely.
My first suggestion was to shorten the shaft support says no because it is a precision cut and anything can happen. they suggested to push the shaft through but how. I will need to drill a small hole on the fan for the shaft to go through. That’s when they connected me through this forum.

First problem I run was the wire was too short then the tech support from APP said that this is a common issue and that I will need to splice the old and connect to the new to reach.
Second problem is the shaft from the new part that I bought from APP site was too long than the original part. Tech support said as long as I push it in all the way it will work but that could not happen because the shaft is already bottomed-out and when I installed the whole unit the fan won’t spin freely.
My first suggestion was to shorten the shaft, support says no because it is a precision cut and anything can happen or the part won’t last very long. Support suggested for me to push the shaft through but how. I will need to drill a small hole on the fan for the shaft to go through if not, that this will shatter or brake and now I will need a NEW fan. That’s when they connected me through this forum.
Way too many modifications required to install this “ice-maker fan motor” with no help from support since it is the weekend basically you need to be mentally “mechanically/technically” inclined to make this motor “work and fit” to your refrigerator. NOT an OEM Part!
Which part number did you get? I think judging by the picture you were sent the condenser fan motor. The actual Ice room fan assembly is (LG ABA72913415 Refrigerator Fan Motor Assembly | Genuine OEM Part)
Order# 17444901 PN: EAU65058502 description: LG Fan Motor Assembly.
Yes that is the condenser fan motor you need the ice room fan assembly (LG ABA72913415 Refrigerator Fan Motor Assembly | Genuine OEM Part)
I typed in the code that my refrigerator is giving me and that is a (IF E) and mentioned it is my ice-makers fan motor any other part that was told by me that I need I have no clue. This is what APP told me to replace. Even gave me a IPC where the part is located. ![]()

Yes. On the LG LRYKC2606S, the IF E / I F E code points to the ice fan circuit—the fan that moves cold freezer air to the ice-making area.
In your case, the code fits what you’re seeing. If the replacement motor’s shaft is too long and the fan cannot physically spin after installation, the control will detect that the fan isn’t turning properly and the IF E code will return. Defrosting may temporarily clear the code if ice was also present, but it won’t correct a motor/blade that is binding.
