Overnight the dishwasher became noisy during wash cycles. Empty cycles still sound the same, except that the water doesn’t seem to be entering my disposal as forcefully as before (but that might just be my imagination). Could something be down inside the drain or partially blocking one or both pumps?
How do I take off the strainer to see if something is down there? If nothing is visible, how do I get to the hoses and impellars to see if they are blocked?

Remove the sump cover (center of tub bottom) and check that there is no debris in it or that there is nothing wrapped around the chopper.
Be careful, there is often broken glass in the sump.
Check that the unit is filling correctly. Most units fill to just under the heating element. If it does not have enough water the wash pump will cavitate (suck in air) and growl.
You can check this by adding a couple quarts of hot water after it fills, if the noise disappears then that is your problem. Just be careful to not overflow it.
The most common cause of low water levels is a partially clogged filter screen on the input side of the water valve.
Remove the valve from the unit and clean it.
Do not permanently remove the filter screen from the valve, as it is there to keep crud out of the valve which could hold it open and cause a flood.

Thanks for the quick reply. I actually was on the site to order some fridge parts and was suprised to see such service.
How do I remove the sump cover? When I squeeze the right side it disengages from the sump, but the left side under the top arm supply tube still stays engaged and I’m afraid of breaking the cover if I try to horse it.
