Icemaker Water Level Sensor

Kitchen Aid KUID308HPS icemker. I just watched a video where David replaced a water level sensor in a Kitchen Aid under counter icemaker. My water runs into the reservoir continuously and will overflow. When I unplugged the water level sensor like David did on the video it went to a timed fill which will still overfill just slightly but will then stop. I cannot find the water level sensor on your website. Can you help me? Heres a link to the video. https://youtu.be/6F1sdDGd9ys?si=HUjH_7O7QzM786UT

Hello, I was looking at the parts diagram on your model, and the sensor is part of the circulation pump and is different from my video. My unit at home does not have a sensor. It fills for a specific length of time, overflowing the reservoir. Then refills. I do not have a drain pump as you do. If you feel the icemaker is not making ice correctly, you can replace the circulation motor. I wouldn’t mind as long as it works correctly.

Thanks, one other question, how long should it take the cutter grid to cut a block of ice? My blocks are sitting on the grid a while and I’m getting water dripping down the front of the cutter grid. They drop with plenty of time before the next block falls on the grid but it seems like its slower than normal. I’ve cleaned the scale off of my wires and checked the continuity and everything seems ok.

As far as how long? It all depend on the thickness of the slab. Mine takes a while and it too drops water onto the ice. If they are cutting they are good. What you mentioned in cleaning the scales off of the wires would help. A new grid would help too. These ice machines can be a money pit. I seem to be working on mine a lot. But, when they work, the wife is happy so…
