If the ice maker will not allow the metal arm to drop, it may be stuck in a harvest cycle. If you remove the motor cover and test from L to N on the motor, is there 120 Volts AC? If there is, the ice maker has failed. 4317943 Whirlpool Icemaker Kit | Genuine Whirlpool OEM In Stock
It sure if that is my issue. I cannot get the arm to stay, especially at the far end. Could I not have it inserted correctly in the motor (left side) end?
That is a possibility. If you remove the arm just enough for it to rotate to the downward position, then try to gently push it into the motor, it may go in.
