I installed a new water control valve and icemaker and the icemaker appears to be cycling but no water. I checked the tubes and all seem to be free of ice and working. We gave it over a week now. The new icemaker model is RIM Hi-Start 201401. Suggestions appreciated.
When the ice maker goes through a cycle does the water valve activate?
Do you have a red light optics in the freezer section?
I’m not sure what that means but I don’t see a red light.
I don’t know how to verify if that happens.

When the ice maker goes through a complete cycle do you hear the water valve turn on? It should making a buzzing or humming sound.
It’s unfortunately common, but lots of times the voltage to the icemaker is missing due to a splice failure internal to the fridg. You will need a meter to check.
Disregard that. Put 115 volts to the icemaker water valve in the back. If no water goes to the icemaker, you either have a frozen line or a bad valve.
Thanks for the help. I will listen to the water valve during a cycle. Also, if you can tell me how to apply the 115v to the valve …
Thanks again
Also, is there a way to trigger a cycle?
Use an old lamp cord. splice spade terminals on the stripped ends. The icemake should advance once the mold is filled with water
You can advance the icemaker by putting a wire jumper between t and h pins on the module behind the cover.
I think I ran the icemaker thru a complete cycle with both my old and new valves and neither made any noise during the cycle. I’m stillnot sure of the details of how to apply the power to the valve. I checked the tubes before and was able to blow air thru them so I don’t think it’s a frozen line. Thanks
The icemaker actually started producing ice at a low level for awhile once I put theld valve back in but has now stopped again.
