Hi,
We have a Whirlpool Gold Refrigerator/ side by side doors with water & ice in the freezer door (Model# GD5SHAXK00).
The ice-maker doesn’t stop making ice. It looks like it has an electric eye sensor system to turn it off. But even when I slide the switch to off/ it doesn’t stop making ice.
Your help/ info would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Dennis
The ice maker is powered through the PC boards (AP3137510) located on either side of the cavity. If it keeps making ice, they would most likely be the problem. If you unplug the refer and remove the three screws holding the right cover in place, you can remove the control board. The ice maker is powered by the the board completing the circuit between the black and black/white wires in the middle. Unless you see a problem with the connector at that point, the board should fix it.
Thanks for the info/ help!!!
Will try to get to it in the near future/ after I fix my Maytag dryer baffle problem I asked about first. Just got through removing the dryer door and front panel this morning. Smooth and straight forward with the info your people sent.
Thanks, again, and have a nice day!
Best wishes,
Dennis:)
