Main Symptom: new pump not working
What happens & when: installed new pump and it isn’t pushing the water through the tube

Parts or tests already tried: removed the vertical slope so the tube is basically flat and the pump doesn’t work

Any suggestions as to a reason for the new circulation pump not working? The reservoir fills with water and stops. The pump sounds like it has started but the water is unable to move past the horizontal section. The original pump had a low, humming, sound when it was running. This pump has more of a grinding sound.
If it is running and not pumping water that would indicate a bad recirc pump. What was the part # you ordered?

From your description it sounds like that is a bad recirc pump from the manufacturer. This manufacturer had some issues a couple of years back with the same thing on another model and part #.
