My ice maker makes ice but only dispenses it in 2 or 3 days.
I have used a hairdruer to melt the ice and start fresh.
I have checked water flow and seems ok.
Any Siggestions?
KP, Sorry, but we need a better idea of the issue. What or where is the ice you have to melt with a hairdryer? if it’s actually in the ice bin, that would be a good indication of a sticky fill valve, or the dispenser flapper door is not sealing and causing the cubes to melt together. It could also indicate a faulty defrost component, causing the freezer to overheat(but you didn’t mention anything about thawed food or “freezer burn”.
Another quick check is, when you open the freezer door, the LED light on the right side wall, should be on solid, if it is blinking (2 blinks and a pause) this would indicate an issue with the I/R sensor system, and could be a cause for the intermittent operation as well.
Give us a better idea of the issue and we can pin point the issue for you better.

Looks like I am having the issue where you described 2 blinks and a pause on the IR sensor.
When I close the Infared door flap that is triggered when the door is closed by the ice bin, the red light stays on.
I unplugged the fridge from the wal and replugged it in.
The infared light stayed off until I pressed the Ice Magic button.
In then returned to the 2 blinks and pause as you described.
Any suggestions?

Based on your post information, you most likely have a I/R sensor system, that’s on the way out. You’ll need to order
And install both boards. It’s not a hard repair, and you can be up and running in no time.

When I received the Optics, I read the instruction sheet and the diagnostics procedure indicates my current optics are OK.
I do get the 2 pulses followed by the 1 second delay,and when I do press in the emitter flapper door, the LED is on Steadily.
The instuction sheet indicates the optics are working properly.
Should I still change the boards or is it something else?

Kpdon,
Being an intermittent issue ( works for a couple of days, then stops) the I/R sensor system is the most likely issue. For one reason or another, the I/R beam is turning off, and the reciever board turns the ice maker off, thinking the ice cubes have reached the top of the bin.
Since everything works for a few days at a time, You’ve pretty much narrowed it down to the board(s) or a wiring issue.

A couple of things. The I/R beam is always on, until you open the freezer door and the emitter beam is broken by the “flapper” on the wall. The beam is “shot” through the two cut outs in the top of the bin. Frost on the bin shouldn’t affect the operation, But any frost should only be momentary, when the freezer door is opened. There shouldn’t be any frost, unless we have an issue with the dispenser flapper or an air leak.
[LEFT]Are the ice cubes that are made, are they clear and solid, or do they appear to be layered, or cloudy ? You aren’t attached to a reverse osmosis filter system are you ? Check and make sure the fridge compartment is not too cold, especially in the crisper drawers. Make sure there’s an average air temperature of 38 to 40 dgrs F. in the fridge, and 3 to 5 dgrs.F. in the freezer.
Let us know what you find, we’ll go from there.

They will need to install a “check” valve, or a regulator on the line to the fridge supply. There has to be a minimum, constant 30 psi (minimum) water pressure, to the refrigerator fill valve. When the filtration system “reverses” to clean itself, it’s like turning the water off to the fridge, you have to, allow time for the tubing to fill back up, and flush any air in the system, before it will make ice properly, You also want to remove any inline filter and the refrigerator filter(if applies) from the system, as well. I had the water company check the pressure.
It does meet the 30 psi requirement.
I have removed the inline filter within the fridge.
I will try the regulator.
How do I return the parts that were not the issue for credit?

OK, Just remember, you have to maintain a “constant” 30 PSI on the system, any pressure drop, at any time can disrupt the water system in the fridge.
