Brand: Electrolux Model Number:EI23BC80KS2 Ice Maker JBCD-23 Main Symptom: Ice Maker not working or inconsistent What happens & when: The ice maker freezes with ice cubes visible on top and the tray full and frozen as well. I have to break off the cubes on top to help free the mechanism. At this point the only way to fix it is to go into “fast Ice mode” which does dispense a few sets of ice before freezing up again. It has a new filter within the past 30 days. Water does dispense when the tray is emptied however it is very inconsistent in making and removing ice and usually freezes up again within a day or so.
Error Code (if any): no error codes
Parts or tests already tried: none

When the ice maker freezes up, is it the fill tube that freezes up with ice that then needs to be cleared? If so, the valve would need to be replaced. If not, where is the ice accumulating at the most?
Typically this is what i see when it is not working:
there is a harvested set of ice sitting on top of the icemaker frozen in place. The tray is also full and frozen. The arms wont move. I reach in break the ice off the top, sometimes I have to use something to pry it or tap it and break it. Again at this point the tray is full and frozen. once I get the ice off the top, i usually have to put it in “fast ice” mode and after some time it clears, refills and runs normally for several cycles but eventually freeezes up again.
it is currently working and putting out normally shaped ice, sooner or later it will freeze up again. this last round I want to say the time for filling was less than 9 seconds however the ice being harvested looks the correct size.
if this changes anything, let me know, otherwise thank you for the information!
The ice maker is currently still working. is there a way I can do a diagnostic on the board to confirm? Can i put the fridge in diagnostic mode and if so how?
i have tried a few button combinations but nothing seems to work.
