I have water/condensation running from the face plate. The water dispenser does not leak, no puddles forming (where the cup is placed.) The flap and water valve was replaced and still water/condensation is running from the faceplate or behind it. NO drips are spotted. Nothing. I have called two different technicians to come out and they said that is normal. However, I have had this for 5 years and the last year it has done this only. I don’t understand it. Someone please help I am at wit ends with this mysterious running streaks.
I’m not sure if I got right which part did you call “face plate”. Can you refer to the diagrams bellow please?

Second diagram on the left side and the number is 11. Its the faceplate that mounts on the outside of the refrigerator. I see streaks there all the time and I can’t get rid of it.

Make sure the ice gate inside the ice dispenser is closing properly, so warm air can not get inside.
What is exact temperature in the freezer? If it’s bellow 0°F, adjust it to 0°F.
Also, it can be a bad insulation inside the door.

the temp is at 0 they are both set and stay that way with a degree off or two at times after opening door. the ice gate is closing tightly. I did add Vaseline to the seal seeing if this works.
I never seen such problem before and, at this point I’m stumped. If two different technicians could not find anything wrong, being at the unit, there is not much what I can do remotely.

Since I was having streak problems and a lot of condensation on the flap. I was told to try Vaseline on the doors seal. So far so good. Hope this helps for others who are having streaking problems from the faceplate or cover plate on the ice maker.
