This GE Profile Refregerator is approx 17 years old.
The ice maker dispenser on the freezer door opens and closes on it’s own every 5-10 minutes. We removed all ice from the icemaker and made sure no ice was caught in the freezer door assembly. The problem persists.
What part would we need to replace to correct this problem.
Is this a repair that a moderately mechanical homeowner can make?
Is this part available through Appliance Parts Pros?
If so, does the part come with installation instructions?
Thank you in advance for your advice.

I have come across 2 units that did the same thing. What i changed on both was the control board that sits in the back of the refrigerator panel both worked great.
I spoke with a representative on the phone and was told that Appliance Parts Pros do not have a listing for a GE Profile Refrigerator Serial No. TFN30 PRTB WW. There is a listing for a GE Profile Refrigerator with Serial No. TFH30 PRTB WW. Will the part for refrigerator Serial No. TFH30 PRTB WW work for our refrigerator Serial No. TFN30 PRTB WW?
