Will the New model of Whirlpool icemaker(4317943) work in place old Whirlpool icemaker(106 626440) for the above Admiral side-by-side refrig?

I use one of the new metal shutoff arms. It did fill up but would never dump. (I quess the heater would never kick on and the fingers stoped at the 4 o’clock postion) Customer service requested that I check with you guys before they replace the unit. I thought these unit were a plug and play items with no adjustments except to verify that it was level.
