Ice Machine not releasing Ice Slab

Brand: KitchenAid
Model Number: KUIX535HPS01
Main Symptom: Ice slab get stuck and becomes too thick
What happens & when: After start, ice is made but never relased from the plate. after few minutes water start to flow again, increasing the size of slab.

Error Code (if any):
Parts or tests already tried: Replaced thermistor and water recycling pump. Plat thermistor looks like it’s working, i’m getting voltage at least. Ice machine is not releasing the slab, after few hours everything if froze, even below the plate there are icicles. Don’t know what else to do.

If the thermistor on the bottom of the evaporator is good then this issue will most likely be caused by either a control board or a faulty solenoid for the hot gas valve.

is there a easy way to replace this hot gas valve?

It is not the valve itself but the solenoid for the valve. If you take off the front panel at the bottom of the unit you will see this part and should only be hld on by a screw that you would remove and slide it off and disconnect the wires. Then just plug the harness in and slide it back on and screw it down.
