I thought that the freezer defrost heater was working, but was it just the evaporator tube getting hot when the compressor shut off? Is Sears heater #531674 or Mullion #3112360 what I need to keep ice from forming in the bottom of the freezer? It is a regrigerator with the freezer at the bottom. How do I change the heater? Thank You.
Gayeske,
You will need to remove everything in the freezer compartment, remove the rear wall of th freezer to access the heater,
You will also need to check the drain opening in the pan to see if it is frozen or clogged, first.
Good Luck,

I removed everything, but where do the wires go from the heater when they enter a hole in the freezer side wall? Thank You
Gayeske,
Once the harness enters the wall, it becomes a “foamed in” component, and becomes a "non repairable"situation. The harness is routed between the outer metal wall, and the inner plasic wall. and only a few inches of the harness is exposed in order to attach the wires to the control components.
Did you find a problem with the wiring ?
