With the power supply cord unplugged, there should be two microswitches between the ice chute door and the ice chute door motor. The gray wire at the dispenser assembly is the common wire for the microswitches and it can be used to test to the purple wire and then the white wire when the switches are activated. The switches should have continuity when they are not being activated by the chute and there should be no continuity when they are being activated. If the dispenser assembly tests good, the likely cause of failure would be the main control. Is there an REV number or a two digit number next to the barcode on the white model tag of the refrigerator?

The Rev # is 04. The switches test out normal. When the dispenser switch is activated the ice door motor will stop. At this time I have unplugged the ice door motor. The water dispensing is still functioning properly and the refrigerator seems to be functioning properly also. The control panel has no visible damage to the circuit board.

I have received the control board but I have not installed it. When I tested and troubleshot the ice door, it would continuously operate even when the control board was disconnected. Verifying before I install the new control board. Is the control board the logical solution? Thanks for all of this information.

Should I install the new control board even though the ice door continuously operates if the control board is not connected?

I placed the order and received part number DA92-00384K. It is incorrect the part number on my control board is DA92-00368. Also I still question why the ice door operates when the control board is disconnected?
