I cracked the basket cover kit, any hope in repairing?

I had successfully taken the transmission out of the assembly and everything, replaced the transmission and the housing, and was flipping it back over to put the basket back in place, when I tripped and put my knee through the cover kit (Part Details - GE Bearing & Cover Kit, part number: AP2620773).

Is there any repairing this? Can I go to a local hardware store and get like a fiberglass repair kit and glass the inside of the basket cover?

Thanks.

A totally unusual thing to happen, so no experience with it here, but I see no reason why you could not do that.

I used PVC cement to hold the pieces back together and that worked pretty well. I felt fairly comfortable that putting fiberglass on both sides would fix the problem. But, with my washer and dryer being on the second floor of our house, I knew I would never be totally at ease with the washer again. So, off to the store we went and I purchased a new washer. Thanks for your help!

Good decision, flooding is something you never ever want.

Good luck with your new machine, thanks for getting back to us.
