Can someone tell me how old the dryer is by the model #? DX4500EA1WW I think it’s a GE.
You will need the serial number to determine the age. Once you have it, visit my post How old is your Appliance to get your answer.
Thank you Brian.
I’m a little confused. If it was F is the year then why is it 2003 and not 1991?
Here is what it says about GE:
General Electric
1st Alpha Character = Month Manufactured
2nd Alpha Character = Year Manufactured
Example - SF070596 was manufactured in September 2003.
GE Month Codes
A=Jan D=Feb F=Mar G=Apr H=May L=Jun M=Jul R=Aug S=Sep T=Oct V=Nov Z=Dec
GE Year Codes
F=1991/2003 G=1992/2004 H=1993/2005 L=1994/2006 M=1995/2007 R=1996/2008
S=1997/2009 T=1998/2010 V=1999/2011 Z=2000/2012 A=2001/2013 D=2002/2014
The letter ‘F’ could be either, and will also be used in 2015, so you need to know at least which decade the unit was made to narrow the production date down.
