How do I remove this aluminum housing that the inner tub bolts to? Does that nylon looking nut have to come off? Does anyone know which way it’s threaded? Any advice?

Thanks for the reply. I have seen the diagram. Mine is stuck on there good. I’m also trying to make sure it isn’t a reverse thread or something. I found a video of someone removing one, I was just looking for some additional clarification. Do these have to be cut off sometimes?
Also, in normal operation, should the shaft that drives the agitator and the bracket that holds the inner tub move freely from each other? Mine are locked together and I am guessing that this means I have a bearing locked up.
