I have a Whirlpool top load clothes washer, LS8543JQ1. I think that I need to replace the switch, lid. A chat tech has already given me the part number AP3100003
So far, I have removed the top control panel with 2 screws and released the back panel by taking out the 2 copper colored “S” shaped springs.
I would like to know how to raise the top panel of the washer? I tried to slide the whole lid panel horizontally forward. It does not budge. Is this the correct thing to try or is there some other means of my getting into the top to unplug the wires?
Your diagram of the top and cabinet show a spring clip. Part 4. To release them you pry the top up from the front till it springs out. Should be one on each front corner.
