How to change a baking element

Single wall mount Jenn Air W122 oven, and baking element quit working. Broiler works fine.

So, I jump on to appliance parts pros and order a new baking element tonight.

The question … when it arrives, how do I replace it? Is it “plug and play”?

Unplug the range. Remove the screws at the ends of the element. Pull the wire connectors out slowly to avoid them coming loose. Plug the new element in and reattach with the screws. Power on and your done.

Thank you … can’t wait to get cook’n again.

Glad I could help.

I have a jenn air jgw8130adw and there are no screws at the end of the element do I cut the wires ar take the back off the oven is that possible?

Hey Dan,

Usually the elements are secured to the back of the oven with screws, but the model number you provided is for a gas range so I am not sure which element you are refering to. Give us a little more information, or start a new post so we can help you out.

Your model is a gas model. The “element” you’re probably looking at is the ignitor. Ir is connected with terminal connectors and is considered “plug-and-play”.
