While in convection cooking, the fan(s) abruptly stopped then momentarily came back on, then shut back down. The stove began beeping and displaying code -FC-
I’ve read instructions for cleaning the contacts on a wiring harness between the control board and the relay board, but I don’t know where these boards are located. Can anyone help?
The control board, aka a display board, is located behind the control panel while the relay board is located on the back of the range, behind the rear cover. The range has to be pulled out of the wall to access it.
Very likely the cause of this problem is electro magnetic interference detected on the J2 harness the display board to the relay board. The cause of this problem as well as the solution are described in the Service bulletin attached to the replay. By the serial number you posted, your range made in April of 1988, so this Service bulletin covers it too.
Thanks. I ordered and received the little ferrite choke. Before diving into the stove, I powered it back up and, voila, it’s been working perfectly for three days. I think I’ll wait for it to fail again before diving in.
