Help with Code 30 "Keypad Disconnected" on KitchenAid KOCE500EBS20 - Control Board already replaced

Model Number: KOCE500EBS20 and Serial Number: DB1013971
Main Symptom: KEYPAD DISCONNECTED AND UNRESPONSIVE
What happens & when: The control screen displays “KEYPAD DISCONNECTED.” The entire touchpad is unresponsive to all inputs. It is a single, integrated screen for both the microwave and oven functions.

Error Code (if any): 30 / “KEYPAD DISCONNECTED”.
Parts or tests already tried:

  1. Confirmed the ribbon cable connection is secure at both ends.

  2. Replaced the main microwave control board with an OEM replacement (Part #AP6872126).

  3. After the board replacement, the error code “KEYPAD DISCONNECTED” persists exactly as it did before.

  4. The parts diagram for my model lists two separate components:

    • 12A: Oven Control Panel Overlay

    • 12B: Microwave Control Panel Overlay

    Since my unit uses one single, integrated glass interface/screen for the entire system, I need to know which of these parts is the actual electronic touch interface that includes the ribbon cable for the screen. I do not want to order a cosmetic trim piece by mistake.

    Can anyone confirm which part contains the touch-matrix ribbon cable for the KOCE500EBS20, or if there is a specific “Console Assembly” part number I should be ordering instead?
