HELP! Refrigerator is broken

Something smoked, and stunk-up the entire home (AM) yesterday.
The smell was MUCH stronger from the freezer side but there was nothing visibly wrong. We checked beneath from the front and removed the panel from the rear. Carefully vacuuming and searching for something burnt, but found NOTHING.

4-5 hours later we noticed that the icemaker stopped working, just tiny puddles of water. After removing the entire device, I cannot see anything burnt.

This morning we realize that nothing is working. A headache, but thank G-d we have a second refrigerator in the garage.

Assuming this is a burnt relay & overload, how could we tell?
If we can purchase parts needed online how much would they cost?
Is this a simple type of repair?

Thanks -m

24-hours later. We find the upper third portion of our refrigerator is working. The burnt odor has dissipated
