I have error F3 ( heating broken ) on Whirlpool dishwasher.
It has integrated heating above the pump as seen on picture

I examined heating element, it is not broken. It has lost a contact as seen on

I suppose it is some kind of protection. It looks something like bimetal switch, thermo switch or something??? Dont know much about it. Question is what is purpose of that. I used gently a screwdriver on it, and now it has a contact.. Should I buy a new heater ?? or this is ok?

Help appreciated! and thanks!

I would probably buy a new assembly as you may have bent something in the device so that now it will not open if there is a problem.
