Hi-- I was having a problem with greasy dishes, denman suggested I test the heat. Having established that it is the heating element, how difficult is it to replace the element? Can I do it myself or shall I call in a professional? I have already successfully replaced the accumulator assembly. Saved myself $200!
You will probably have to pull the dishwasher.
Here is a video.
YouTube - Dishwasher Heating Element Replacement (part #W10134009)
Some steps in the video you may be able to ignore, it depends how the unit is installed.
One thing that I do not do is lay the unit on it’s back.
Just be sure to turn power off to the unit before starting.
