Handle Replacement

Door handle broke at the upper screw holder and I can’t figure how to get at the lower screw to replace it. Upper screw is in plain sight but lower screw is in the door.:frowning:

Hi Tim,

Check out this door frame diagram, specifically number 1805. It clips on to the door frame. Remove it using a dull table knife or something similar (be careful not to scratch or break anything). You will then have access to the bottom screw.

Let us know how it works out.

How do you go about replacing the handle on a Roper microwave model MH14XMB-O

Mark, please double check that model number. It doesn’t come up at all. I’ve tried multiple variations (O=0, 1=I, etc). Post it here and I’ll take a look.

Does anyone know how to replace the door handle on a Whirlpool microwave? There are 3 screws on the side but they don’t loosen anything?

Perkis,

You’d have to remove the inner frame (#2 on this diagram), just like I described it for Tim at the beginning of this thread.

On the whilrpool there are tabs inside that go all around, is there some easy way of removing this other than with a dull knife. This does not work.

Not that I know of. The plastic inner frame is fragile, but still pretty flexible.

I need to replace the handle on this Microwave. I cannot seem to find any way to do it. Help!!

I have model Kitchen Aid KHHS179LSS and the handle broke off this morning. The plastice where the screws were screwed into broke. I have found the part on your site, but need help in replacing it. Do I only have to take a back frame off and then I will have access to the screws? Please help. Thanks!!!

Yes. Remove the inner door frame (#2 on the door break down diagram) and you’ll get access to the screws.

Gene.

Gene,

You sent me in an email that the part # is AP3178128. That handle is white…correct? I need stainless. I ordered AP3178131 and got it today. The problem is that this is not the handle for my microwave. The picture online shows correctly that it has rounded handles. This handle has square ends and is longer. All of the part #s match up. I am going to call tomorrow morning, but if you have any advice…that would be great. Thanks for your help!!!

The problem could be because you missed the last digit on the model number you provided.

Gene.

Yep, like a charm. THANKS

Yes, your suggestion worked like a charm. THANKS:)

I am a Frigidaire Microware Model # CGLMV168. Would the handle be replaced in the same way?
