Above washer is a GE 2015 model I believe. It has a mind of its own some days. Most of the time it will not spin out at the end of a cycle. If I manually set it to Drain and Spin it will spin. I have run all the diagnostics. Everything seems to test out ok but it won’t complete a cycle. I cleared all the codes that were stored in it. Lid lock and spin test ok when using the on board diagnostic procedure. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
Edit: I think I’ve determined that during a cycle the pump runs for a long time (long drain) and it times out and shuts off. That’s why the clothes are soaking wet because it never gets to spin…I’ve checked the pressure sensor tube. It’s clear. I pulled out the pump. No debris or blockage.
As stated in my original post. The pump runs and pumps the water out but never shuts off until the long drain threshold is reached. It times out and washer shuts off. Wet clothes in basket. I pulled out drain pump and no debris. Drain hose is clear. I tested the pressure switch hose to make sure it was clear. The codes were all benign. Hot water valve low pressure. Cold water valve low pressure… none of which would cause my issue.
Since it will drain and spin in that mode should tell us the lid switch is working, motor is capable of spinning.
Since it cannot spin in a regular cycle the washer may think it is still full of water if that pressure switch is not resetting (I couldn’t find it on the parts breakdown)
Should be work checking. A s l o w drain out could use up all the spin time and the washer ends up shutting off. Too many suds can cause a poor or slow drain out, which will also mess with the spinning.
Thanks for responding. The pressure switch is actually a part of the circuit board. Lid switch tested ok in my earlier attempts at diagnosing this thing. I’m thinking that there may have been a minor blockage in the plastic orifice that sends the message to the pressure switch. After clearing that orifice I’ve had 3 successful complete wash and spin cycles. Not high confidence but will see how it goes…thanks again
Hi. Just circling back to say that the washer has worked fine since clearing the plastic orifice that sends the signal back to the pressure switch! Thanks again!
