I have a GE dishwasher that gave up on me. I replaced the control panel and it runs now buts it’s skipping over a handful of washing options on the knob. Anyone have any idea what it could be!

One thing jumps out immediately: GFW550SSNWW is a GE front-load washer model, not a dishwasher. If that model number is correct, I’d troubleshoot this as a washer.
Since replacing the control/UI got it running but the selector now skips several cycle positions, I’d suspect one of these:
Wrong/incompatible control or UI board — especially if the replacement supersedes to multiple versions depending on serial number.
Board needs personality/model configuration after installation. Some GE controls have to be configured for the exact model.
Selector encoder/knob issue if the skipped selections are random rather than specific cycles.
Less likely, a harness/connector isn’t fully seated between the UI and main control.
The original symptom — press Start → relay clicks → machine dies — could certainly have been control-related, but the new symptom makes me want to verify the replacement part before chasing anything else.
If you send me the part number of the control panel/board you installed and the full serial number, I can check whether it’s the correct control for GFW550SSNWW and whether GE requires programming/configuration after replacement.
