GE washer timer replacement

I just purchased the Kingston 71597 to replace the model in my washerKingston 71595. I was told that it would work… when I replaced it and turnedit on… it would not stop filling up the washer with water, even overfilledand out onto my floor. I unplugged the machine connected my old unit back in todrain out the fluid.

When I turned over both units I noticed that there are a set ofconfiguration numbers with the letter M and then on the left there are tworows… one is L and the other is U. The numbers are different for 1,2, and 3but all the rest are the same. how do you go about getting the unit 71957 towork on my GE Washer (WHDRR418GWW ) http://products.geappliances.com/ApplProducts/Dispatcher?REQUEST=SpecPage&Sku=WHDRR418GWW

Sounds like you got the wrong part no matter what someone said.

Call APP and give them your model number and see what they say about the part. Those of us who respond here are mostly volunteers and we do not have a connection with the parts operation of APP
