GE Washer spins then stops

My GE washer runs through the cycles, fills, agitates, then spins for 3-5 seconds and stops. The pump continues to run and drains all the water. My best guess is the timer is bad???

I’ve already bought a new inlet valve and agitator. Should I buy more parts and hope the transmissions doesn’t go out or just find a newer used washer?

Its NOT the timer!!! Will it spin after all the water is drained? or does it just sit there and pump until the cycle finishs,

It pumps until the cycle stops, then goes on to the next cycle. It doesn’t always spin for the 3-5 seconds either. I’ve tried just turning the timer to the spin cycle, and sometimes it spins, sometimes it doesn’t, but it always pumps.

Check the lid switch, If its OK, It could be that the motor is kicking out on the overload, The only time that I have seen this is when the clutch is stuck or the motor is bad!!!
