This washer was properly repaired with new mode shifter and reassembled. Plugged it in, hit the start button and only heard a click coming from the circuit board above the motor. Unplugged and re-plugged it to reset and the same thing happened. All connectors are snapped in their sockets, and no wiring was damaged. Is it the thermal fuse? Is there another way to reset the circuit?
There is no thermal fuse, only an in line electrical one that should not be the problem. And there should be instructions on how to reset-everything with the new part. If you had this done by an outside service tech they should have done all of this.
I found the in line fuse and the continuity was OK. I’ve tried the reset methods of opening and closing the lid 6 times in 12 seconds and the begin at 9 O’clock position with the selector switch holding down the on button and turning to the 3 O’clock position to check the light code sequence, but the main problem remains that when I plug the washer in, there is a click from the motor circuit board and no current anywhere, i.e.: no lights and no response from control panel. Is there a breaker or relay that can be checked? Once again, the disassembly and assembly was properly done (by me) and there seems to be no logical reason for this problem to have manifested.
I agree there is no reason for this problem to have occurred. I can only assume a horrible coincidence and that the control unit has failed. If you buy one from this site and that is not the problem you can return it.
Wish I had better news.
I know this is 11 years later… but did you ever figure anything out? I am on my second main control board and still having this exact issue…
